Balham sits in our regular working circuit between Clapham and Tooting, a mix of well-kept Victorian and Edwardian terraces, a few mansion blocks closer to the High Road, and a steady run of family refurbishments that come to us through word of mouth. Pine boards dominate, which suits the way we work: full sand-back, gap fill, then a clear oil or lacquer that lets the timber do the talking.
